Northern Star is more than just another coffeehouse. It is a unique concept that measures success by the enrichment of the lives of those who come through its doors.

Spring is near, General Beauregard says so

More breakfast and lunch offerings

Please stop by periodicallly as we are always adding items to the breakfast and lunch menu. The new blackboards tell the story.

Thanks to Friends of the Northern Star

Happy New Year, 2008, "The Ocho" . We want to thank all of you who made the survival of the Northern Star possible. The "Friends of The Northern Star" united the community to support saving our coffeehouse. Without your efforts we could not be here. Thanks again, and keep reading to see our new offerings for the new year.

Music, Food (wine and desserts), Art

Norcross is home to so many creative souls, we are striving to be "The" place where they connect , share ideas, and find inspiration. To that purpose we are expanding our Music and Art programs, adding wine to the menu, and creating more family friendly events.

Music

We rearranged the seating to accommodate more folks, and added special lighting to create a more laid back space. Acoustic, Jazz, and easy listening groups have been scheduled every Friday and Saturday. We will soon add an open mic night (probably on Tuesday). If you know a local Artist who would like to perform at the NS please send them our way.

Art

Providing community access to quality local Art at affordable prices is a core mission of the NS. We sold several paintings, and a slew of pottery over the Holidays. In the new year we will be holding more openings and shows for our Artists. Once again if you are looking for a great space to hang your work or know a local artist, the NS hopes to be your gallery.

Books and Authors Thanks to Kathleen Hamilton Allen, one of our favorite local authors, for organizing the Saturday Author's series. Check it out Saturday, January 19th from 10A to noon.

Have you checked out our book nook?

Food (Finally)

We have our wine shop license and will be serving a range of moderately priced "comfortable" wines. We will also be selling wine by the bottle to go or for your enjoyment at the NS. A selection of dessert wines and premium desserts from Michael Yoss, a local baker with over 25 years experience, will be available. Mike's Napa Valley Cheesecake, Carrot Cake, and Key Lime Pie are proven winners and perfect for those nights when you dine in but want a little something special afterward.

Soups of the day are doing well, and we will continue to partner with the Blue House Cafe to offer a quick lunch alternative. The NS is quickly becoming the most productive place to work in the afternoon. So come on over, take advantage of the Wi-Fi, and have a fresh baked cookie while you work. You will also find a wide range of snacks to get you through the afternoon slump.

Game Night - Mondays at the NS

One of my favorite sights at the NS is seeing parents playing chess with their children. This is wonderful on so many levels, so we are purchasing extra chess sets, backgammon sets, and Scrabble games. The tables are perfect for these or you are welcome to bring your own games to enjoy. Whether it is family or friends, get together Monday evening to enjoy some relaxing (but mentally stimulating) game time. A new fashioned alternative to TV or video games. (I do reserve the right to bring in a Wii)

Gift Cards, Organic FT Coffee, T-Shirts

We have gift cards available, and we will hold them for you if you want to use them as an in house account.

Don't forget you get a free cup of regular coffee with the purchase of a bag of our premium coffees, the same coffees you enjoy daily at the NS.

T-Shirts are in, they are all long sleeved and perfect for this time of year.

We also have 96 oz. to go coffee containers, and hot pots to use at your corporate or private affairs.
